GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 343158
Opening and Closing Tabs Changes Size
Last modified: 2006-05-28 06:36:35 UTC
Please describe the problem: Opening and subsequently closing a tab in the terminal alters the size of the terminal. More specifically opening the terminal and then opening a tab in the terminal causes the size of the terminal window change, though each tab is still 80x24. After closing the new tab, the original tab has now expanded to 80x26. Further opening and closing of tabs continues to increase the size of the terminal window. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a terminal. 2. Shift+Ctrl+T to open a new tab. 3. Shift+Ctrl+W to close the new tab. Window size is now increased. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3. Actual results: The window size grows by 2 rows. Expected results: The window size should remain the same as before. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: Opening several tabs and then closing several tabs does not exhibit this erroneous behavior until all tabs are closed except for the original terminal window-area.
