Description Javier F. Serrador 2006-05-25 01:00:14 UTC
In Excel we can input data in rows, using Tab to move the cursor along the row. When pressing Enter, the program assumes you are going to input another row and moves the cursor to the first column of the second row.

In Gnumeric to achieve a similar behaviour I have to drag a rectangle with the mouse, then use Tab key to move along the rows, but this method usually has the inconvenience that I have to count or estimate how many columns I'm going to fill.

I think it is more user-friendly the way Excel works.

Jody: didn't you do something along the lines of this?
Comment 2 Jody Goldberg 2007-08-22 14:18:04 UTC
Yes, patch was in 1.7.1. Although I did make some improvements for RTL support more recently.
