Description Giacomo Perale 2006-05-24 09:28:16 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Evince 0.5.3 can't open cbr and cbz files anymore. The program stays forever in
the "loading" stage, and then crashes when manually closed.

Launching evince in console I can read:

ghepeu@KazeNoTani ~ $ evince Filename.cbz

(evince:8486): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from `ComicsDocument' to
`EvDocumentLinks'
Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x1224)!

the numbers (8486 and 0x1224) change if I launch other instances. This problem
occurs with both cbr and cbz files.

Steps to reproduce:
1. open a cbr or cbz file with evince

Actual results:
evince can't open the file

Expected results:
evince should open the file

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
I'm using evince 0.5.3 with poppler 0.5.2 and xorg-server 1.1.0 (Xorg 7.1
release). Gtk+ 2.8.17 and Glib 2.10.2.

I am going to check if the bug exists in debian : there is no newer version than 0.5.3 in debian
