Description William Jon McCann 2006-05-15 15:33:51 UTC
There are only two places where the user can click to create a new playlist. They can use the Music->Playlist->New Playlist menu item or the popup menu in the sourcelist. The problem with the Music menu is that it is hard to find a since it is in a submenu is a bit hard to get to. The problem with the sourcelist popup is that is only shown in the popup over a blank area of sourcelist. With many sources/playlists and album art (and possibly a queue pane) there usually isn't any blank sourcelist.

Also, it is hard to drag songs to create a new playlist. Once it was possible to drop between sourcelist entries to create a playlist.

It all adds up to make it more difficult than it should be.

Some ideas:

 * add "create new playlist" entries to all sourcelist popup menus
 * add a "create playlist" button at the bottom of the sourcelist
 * have some kind of "drop target" for creating a new playlist

Thoughts?

What about also adding a new toolbar item to the Library and/or playlists?

The menu is nice and solves this problem.
