GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 340051
You lose the ability to type in gnome-terminal when clicking on tabs.
Last modified: 2006-04-29 00:02:58 UTC
Doing the following sequence of events makes it impossible to type in gnome-terminal, even if you click on the text-entry area. However, you can click on the other tab and click back to the current tab to be able to start typing again. But it's still annoying that gnome-terminal enters a state where you can't type. It seems focus never really leaves the tab. 1)Start gnome-terminal and open two tabs. 2) Click the left mouse button on the leftmost tab 3) Click the left mouse button on the leftmost tab again 4) You will see a rectangular dotted line surrounding the tab indicating that the tab has focus. 5) Try typing in the terminal. The terminal text window doesn't have focus. 6) Click the mouse button on the 2nd tab. The rectangular dotted line highlight moves indicating that the 2nd tab has focus. Again it isn't possible to type in the terminal text window without clicking the mouse button within the text window. It seems the only way to be able to get focus into the text-entry area again is to click on another tab again.
Confirmed.
