GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 339113
Budget report is called Single Report in the menu
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:01:53 UTC
The Budget Report (at least it is called that as default Title) is called Single Report in the Reports->Income & Expense menu structure. Should probably be changed from "Single" to "Budget" Hopefully this could be fixed, even if we have a string freeze, or? Disclaimer. Have not verified the actual report itself though.
I cannot reproduce this here - in LANG=C the report is properly called "Budget Report" (actually with accelerator key "_Budget Report"), and in LANG=de_DE this is correctly translated into "Budget-Bericht". Which LANG setting do you have?
I have the following $ echo $LANG en_AU.UTF-8 Confirmed it is ok if I run like this LANG=C ./gnucash
Err... if I run LANG=en_AU.UTF-8 gnucash then the report title is still completely okay here. I'd guess the problem is due some spurious language file that you have installed, maybe in /usr/share/locale/en_AU/LC_MESSAGES/ ? Can anyone else reproduce this? I definitely can't...
Looking at en_GB.po, there is indeed a translation of "Budget Report" to "Single Report". Maybe your setup falls back to this locale?
Ok, seems to be a translation problem then. Found the same issue in the Swedish file sv.po Have no clue of how to check wich is my fall back locale...
The translation in the Swedish sv.po is marked "fuzzy" which means it is ignored. Obviously the en_GB.po translator erroneously removed the fuzzy mark, but didn't check or change the translation into a correct one (which is always a *must* for any proposed fuzzy translation!). This is fixed in SVN r13816 now. @Bengt: If you have time, I'd ask you to proof-read the po/en_GB.po file. An error like this really must not happen for a translator, and I'm afraid there might be more such wrong translations. If you find any, feel free to report them as a new bug and I'll commit them quite fast.
