GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 338744
Mouse cursor pointer theme should be part of Theme Preferences
Last modified: 2007-07-23 21:43:38 UTC
Please describe the problem: If I want to change my mouse cursors I currently go to preferences->mouse and in that window is a part called "Pointer Theme". If gnome is going to recognize that this is in fact a theme, then shouldn't it be in the Theme Preferences dialog with the other themes? This is like if the window border theme was in preferences->Windows instead of the theme preferences application. I believe that the system wide themes should be grouped together in one app, this includes the mouse cursor themes. If a user wants to change the mouse separately then he should click "theme details" like he already does for window borders. Steps to reproduce: 1. Click preferences->mouse 2. Click pointer tab 3. Notice there is the option to adjust the mouse theme 4. Now go to preferences->theme 5. Notice there is no option to adjust the mouse theme, when this is infact where themes are adjusted. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:

Was going to file the same bug. It's mouse pointer _themes_ and _themes_ are managed by the gnome-_theme_-manager.
Done in new Apperance capplet in 2.19. Closing.
