Gweather should listen for dbus messages from NetworkManager so that it knows when the computer is online, and updates accordingly. At the moment most of the time my laptop just has the '?--' display with a tooltip of 'updating'. If it listened for the dbus messages it would know not to update until it network manager had connected to the network.
