Description Joseph Hill 2006-04-14 17:47:41 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I tried to rip a couple CDs today and trying to rip some tracks resulted in the
message:

** (sound-juicer:11014): WARNING **: Could not get track start position

A couple times it crashed sound-juicer but usually it just gave an empty
dialogue box with the red warning icon and the above message in the console.
Once, I ot the following output:

** (sound-juicer:9552): WARNING **: Could not get track start position

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread -1225520224 (LWP 9552)]
0xb7f0bf76 in gst_debug_message_get () from /usr/lib/libgstreamer-0.10.so.0

I tried ripping the same tracks with grip and had no problem.

Steps to reproduce:

Actual results:
The track cannot be ripped and I get the error message and dialogue described above

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?
With certain tracks, yes, but not with most.

Other information:
I submitted this bug to GStreamer too because I'm not sure where it comes from
exactly.

What version of gstreamer and gstreamer0.10-plugins-base do you have?

Also what is the bug# for the gstreamer bug you filed?
Comment 2 Joseph Hill 2006-04-15 07:52:30 UTC
The bug under GStreamer is 338511. I just filed a stack trace there too. I'm using the latest versions of everything from Dapper, which means gstreamer0.10-plugins-base 0.10.5-0ubuntu3.
