Description Jordan Nash 2006-04-14 01:37:28 UTC
I would like an option added to the "Desktop Background Preferences" menu to
enable the random selection and changing of backgrounds from the list of
backgrounds.

The feature would need to be able to be turned on and off, and possibly allow a
time interval to be selected.

There are a few scripts available to do this, but none can be as clean as a
desktop-level feature. Also, some require a cron script to be run, which would
be executed system-wide, which doesn't seem like a good idea.

Some available solutions allow for backgrounds to be downloaded from the Internet.

Though this might be a nice idea, selecting the background from the list would be a better idea, since it means that I've already seen the images and like them ; if I didn't like them, they wouldn't be in the list.
