Description Luis Villa 2006-04-13 12:36:38 UTC
Google Calendar has an 'agenda view', where instead of looking at a calendar, you see all upcoming appointments in one page. It is pretty nice- an enterprising evo developer should take a look and implement it. Really shouldn't be too hard :)

Outlook also does this using it's Today page
Comment 2 Michael Van Dorpe 2006-04-13 13:44:36 UTC
I remember that when I first clicked "List View", I expected to see something like Outlook's Today page. So maybe, if this bug gets solved, it could replace the List View? Or am I missing something about the usefulness of list view?

If it is filterable, this will also make search results in the calendar much more usable (currently you have to scroll through the month view looking for bolded items).

I havent used google calendar. But Ive screenshots, it shows the meetings for the day, time, etc. IIRC the clock applet does this for evolution. The clock applet lets you show your pending tasks too. Do you thing this could be a value additon to add a agenda view, on top of this. I would prefer to do this for sure, if it is a value addition. Waiting for your comments. Also if I have missed something that agenda view does, please let me know that.

I definitely recommend using and testing your competitors, especially when they are available for free :)

This is sort of similar. The clock applet does this for the specific selected day (and I use it this way all the time- it is great!) The agenda view lets you see everything you have going forward, not just the one day. I find this very useful- don't know if others do as well.

Definitely think that adding tasks in (you might look at the project view in basecamp: http://www.basecamphq.com/tour-overview.php) would be useful as well.

Does this answer your question, Srini?

Cool. Im planning to do it during the next few weeks. It will help me really, if you can put your points to the wiki http://go-evolution.org/UI2.8.

Oh definitely yes :)

New advanced search in calendar (committed in 2.12 cycle)- active appointment, next 7 days' appointment should help.
