Description padraig.obriain 2006-04-05 12:31:34 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Folder is not renamed when it is double clicked before name is saved.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Nautilus and navigate to your home folder in icon view.
2. Create a new folder, then type a new folder name (don't press Enter)
3. double click the folder

Actual results:
When Nautilus opens the folder, it is still referred to as "untitled folder"
even though it has been renamed. (You can confirm the rename, by pressing the Up
arrow to return to the previous folder.)

Expected results:
The folder should be renamed

Does this happen every time?
yes

I can't reproduct this with 2.14.1, it seems fixed.
Comment 2 Holger Bauer 2006-07-10 15:12:12 UTC
I still see this with 2.14.1 on Dapper Drake. There is also a bug in ubuntu bug tracker https://launchpad.net/products/nautilus/+bug/51124
Comment 3 Sebastien Bacher 2006-08-07 13:50:29 UTC
happening with GNOME 2.15.90 too
Comment 4 Cosimo Cecchi 2007-12-27 14:46:30 UTC
Confirming, happens also with 2.21.1.
Comment 5 Sebastien Bacher 2008-06-25 09:02:10 UTC
is that really a bug? you didn't confirm the renaming so the directory has not been renamed yet. what else behaviour would you expect?
Comment 6 Marcus Carlson 2010-07-05 21:45:19 UTC
Ping - what is the wanted behavior from this?
Comment 7 Cosimo Cecchi 2010-07-05 23:28:18 UTC
I'd rather auto-confirm the rename in that case, as double-click has the same meaning of enter in many contexts.
Comment 8 André Klapper 2011-08-18 21:39:44 UTC
Still in 3.1.4.

Doesn't happen anymore with the new rename dialog.
