Description mgant 2006-04-04 14:22:23 UTC
Distribution: Gentoo Base System version 1.6.14
Package: Evolution
Severity: Normal
Version: GNOME2.12.3 2.4.x
Gnome-Distributor: Gentoo
Synopsis: can't permanently delete mail from trash folder
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer
Bugzilla-Version: 2.4.x
Description:
Description of Problem:
I'm unable to permanently delete mail from the trash folder.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open trash folder and select an email
2. Delete email using 'delete button', context menu, edit menu, or
Ctrl+D shortcut key
3. Wait a moment and email is back in the trash folder

Actual Results:
See above.

Expected Results:
Perhaps I'm mistaken but I think that when you select an email for
deletion that is _already_ in the trash folder it should permanently
delete the message. At the very least there should be a command to purge
(permanently delete) the message.

How often does this happen?
Every time.

This is bug 301388, a feature request.

> At the very least there should be a command to purge
> (permanently delete) the message.

This currently is possible on a per Folder basis and global. However, not on a per Message basis.

Folder / Expunge
Permanently remove all deleted messages from this folder.

File / Empty Trash
Permanently remove all deleted messages from all folders.

Given the last (quoted) sentence, this seems to be about permanently removing *single* messages only. Duplicate.
