GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 337194
Transaction appears in 'Orphan-(currency)' if no amount is entered before splitting.
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:01:07 UTC
Please describe the problem: If a split is opened before money amounts are entered, then an 'Orphan-(currency)' line appears. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a new 'Simple Checkbook' tree. 2. Open 'Income'. 3. Hit tab, tab, type 'Paycheck'. 4. Hit the 'Split' button. Actual results: A single 'Orphan-USD' line appears. When I actually click on it, it changes to an 'Income' line and a blank line below it. Expected results: The two lines ('Income' and the blank) should appear when I click 'Split' (as long as I've edited the transaction in some way), before I click down to the line, Does this happen every time? Yes, this is repeatable. Other information: It seems that the blank transaction at the bottom of the register always contains a single, zero-valued split for Orphan-(currency). So I can see that it's coming from somewhere; however, this split shouldn't be visible once the transaction is being edited.
