GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 337090
Clock should provide notification of time changes like daylight savings time
Last modified: 2020-11-07 12:14:21 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/37836 "We switched to Daylight Savings time last night; when I started my computer this afternoon I noticed that the clock had switched to DST as well - but it would be nice if there was a small notification dropdown that reminded the user of the switch to/from DST and confirmed that the system time was still right. That little distro from Redmond does this, and when I was still using Billware it was a useful reminder to switch the *rest* of the clocks in the house."
nice idea :) would be a sweet little bling thingy to include in 2.16 clast
I'm using gnome 2.22.1, it would make a great addition to keep up with the time difference in any forthcoming release of gnome. It could even check with some ntp servers if the clock is shifted +/- 1 hour (or more) to pop up a notification about it.

(In reply to comment #3) > ping Nobody is working on this; patch welcome as usual.
bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old feature requests in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years. If you still use gnome-panel and if you are still requesting this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-panel/-/issues/ Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be implemented.
