Description Quim Gil 2006-03-27 16:01:58 UTC
I've left the categorization of content "for tomorrow" since the day the beta website was released. It's time now. Assigning this to myself.

CCing John Hwang here to discuss possible improvements related to the categorization of content, apart from the default Drupal features, that will bring pages with listings of content of a single category (i.e. pages related with Vilanova, or with Sponsors), with automatic RSS feeds.

Two suggestions:

- Having an automatic block in the right column with the 5 more recent entries on the same taxonomy of the current page. Something like a "Related content" block. Does Drupal has already something like this?

- Allowing tagging to the presentations submitted, including the feature of tagging on the fly. This way we get a lot more tags i.e. GTK+, usability, GIMP...

- Installing the taggadelic module in order to get one of those tag clouds everybody loves in the homepage. Once most of the sessions are already submitted and tagged I bet this will give a unique view of what GUADEC 2006 will be about. I even have an idea of printing a T-Shirt with this cloud... :)

I have created a new vocabulary: tags

By now there is only

- sponsors
- keynotes
- Vilanova

I'll be adding new semantic terms as I find the need to add them to categorize content already published.

I'll be also checking new content submitted in order to add and assign the approprate tags.

The tag cloud is starting to get buildt... :)

More than 100 tags are already introduced and people is already requesting new tags themselves.

There are many pages that still ned to be categorized, though.

Changing to normal priority.
