Description Ben Li 2006-03-01 21:14:54 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When one starts a remote desktop, the description to access it always says
"vncviewer hostname:0". The default "0" is wrong if one starts multiple X
servers on one computer.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Install normal Fedora core 4 and vino rpm vino-2.10.0-4.1. Login as root and
start remote desktop (Desktop -> Preferences -> Remote Desktop) -> Uncheck the
box "Ask you for confirmation" -> click "Close" button );

2) Press "Ctrl + Alt + F1" to start another terminal, use "root" to
login. Start X with another display number by typing "#startx -- :1"
in the command line. Then another gnome session will be started. Follow
the same procedure as step 1 to start remote desktop;

Note: The remote desktop dialog states "Users can
view your desktop using the command: vncviewer $HOSTNAME:0", just the
same as the first X. ( "$HOSTNAME" means the name or IP address of the
computer )

3) At another computer, type "vncviwer $HOSTNAME:0", you can only get
the remote desktop of the first X. One must use "vncviewer $HOSTNAME:1"
to access the second X.

Actual results:
Actual Result: The remote desktop dialog always says ":0", which is very
confusing for end user and he can't know how to access the second X by
remote Desktop.

Expected results:
Expected Results: The remote desktop dialog should show the right number
instead of always saying ":0".

Does this happen every time?
Yes
