GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 332368
Attempting to view properties for Contacts folder causes crash
Last modified: 2006-02-24 06:35:17 UTC
Distribution: Ubuntu 5.10 (breezy) Package: Evolution Severity: Normal Version: GNOME2.12.1 unspecified Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu Synopsis: Attempting to view properties for Contacts folder causes crash Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Contacts [was: Addressbook] Bugzilla-Version: unspecified BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.12.0) Description: Description of the crash: Clicked on a Contact sub-folder and received a message that Contacts could not be retrieved from my MS Exchange Account. I then right clicked on the folder and selected Properties... which is when the crash occurred. Steps to reproduce the crash: 1. Connect Evolution to an MS Exchange Server account that has Contacts with contact sub-folders 2. Cause failure to access contacts on server (I'm not sure why this is happening as the Mail is accessed just fine). I see a message box saying that the query failed. 3. Right click on the contact folder that you were attempting to view and select Properties. 4. This is where my system crashed. Expected Results: Properties window How often does this happen? It crashes every time. Additional Information: I switched my preferences to not cache data locally. When I first setup the mail account, I had it store all data locally for "off-line" access. Today, I unchecked that option since my system never leaves the local network. I also switched it back to cache locally and the crash still occurs now. Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/evolution' (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1". Looks like an exchange specific issue.
Fixed in head. You can use 2.5.91 or 2.5.92 (releaseing next week), though these are development versions, lots of fixed have gone in and I feel these are stable compared to 2.4.x *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 328282 ***
