GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 332033
Crop to desktop sizes (to be used for backgrounds)
Last modified: 2006-10-15 10:25:19 UTC
Add a possibility to crop to common desktop sizes, Enable easy export/email this desktop background (to windows) Enable easy setting of the users desktop background.
I'd rather someone fix the desktop drawing routines to allow you to scale to fill while keeping the aspect since desktops can actually change size.
Good for those who have Linux, when it will implemented here... But perhaps not so good when you want to create a desktop background for Windows users... I still think this might be a good one. Not to sure how to implement it so it is not intrusive, but accessible.
Maybe a modifier (Shift, etc.) could be held while dragging to select. If this is implemented, be ready for RFE about wide screen cropping...
Added a WideScreen (16:9), and extra comment for Screen (4:3) to bug #329581 This fixes the aspect ratio for normal screens. Resize in Export should then fix, if needed, the actual size. Closing this one for now. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 329581 ***
16:9 is not the ratio for wide screen computer display. it's 16:10
