GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 332000
Watch Clipboard feature
Last modified: 2006-12-02 17:40:20 UTC
I would like GDict to be able to translate automatically a word I select in any X application so I dont need to type it. I have done it for the version 2.12.2 creating a timeout that will check the PRIMARY clipboard every second (by default, although changeable) and when the content (text target) changes will attempt to translate it and place the window in the front of the screen. I will post here the patches for the version 2.13.x from the cvs.
eduardo, any news on this? I thought of a potensial issue: what happens if an application saves a huge text inside the clipboard?

Also most of the time I am reading within a browser and there are plenty of extension for browsers that make this feature in GDict not necessary. I think you can close this one. Thanks.
