GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 331734
Misplaced icons with Xinerama setup
Last modified: 2007-03-05 14:07:37 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have a dualhead setup with Xinerama support. The two monitors are placed according to the next drawing, in a big virtual screen : --------------------- | | Virtual | (Virtual is never visible) | Screen 1 |----------| | | | | | | |----------| Screen 2 | | Virtual | | --------------------- Normally the icons appear like that: --------------------- |GnomePanel| | |Icon1 |----------| |Icon2 | | |Icon3 | | |----------| | | | | --------------------- But if I had a panel at the top of the right screen, the icons are still placed on the left screen but at the same height of the panel of the right screen: --------------------- |GnomePanel| | | |----------| | |GnomePanel| |Icon1 | | |Icon2-----| | |Icon3 | | --------------------- I even have icons in the virtual screen area, which is not really convenient as they are not visible... Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Confirmed on nautilus 2.14.3. I have a setup like this: 128 ---------- ------| | |1024 | 1280 | | X | X | | 768 | 1024 | ------| | 128 ---------- Now on the left screen the icons will arange themselves like this: ---------- ------| | |1 6 | | |2 7 | | |3 8 | | -4-9--| | 5 ---------- (Here the icons are acted out by the numbers 1-9) Really annoying bug as to see some of the stuff on my desktop I have to navigate to "~/Desktop/".
