Description Andrig Miller 2006-02-03 22:12:40 UTC
I am using Exchange via a hosting provider, and they do not directly expose the
Global Address List server. When using the OWA web client, I am able to access
the Global Address List server without the need for anything separate. I would
Evolution to be able to access the Global Address List server in the same manner
as OWA, so that I can access the GAL without specifying anything other than the
OWA URL.

I'm still seeing this in evolution 2.12.3 on Fedora 8.

I can confirm as well... please let me know any troubleshooting or log data you need.
Comment 4 Bharath Acharya 2010-03-25 03:48:56 UTC
The connector would contact the GAL server separately through LDAP, so it would still need the server details to connect to. For Exchange connector this cannot be implemented.

We have a new connector (Evolution MAPI) for Exchange 2007 and it should be able to contact the 2003 server also. It implements native GAL, so do try connecting with the new provider.

I am moving this under MAPI product and also NEEDINFO'ing for the reporters to test it out since I do not have a setup in here. Thanks again for this bug report.
