GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 329471
String Change Please. Emoticon "Lick" to "Tongue"
Last modified: 2006-03-22 14:01:48 UTC
I am a little concerned about the string "Lick" in a business workplace. Can someone please change the string to "Tongue" instead? Tongue better describes the icon. Thanks for consideration. Other information:
i second this. (damn, the way to market leadership also includes targetting conservative users. *lick* ;-) string is in /components/html-editor/GNOME_GtkHTML_Editor-emacs.xml.in and /components/html-editor/GNOME_GtkHTML_Editor.xml.in. when fixing this, also fix bug 329513, because it's the same file :-)
i have fixed this in cvs together with bug 329513: http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gtkhtml/components/html-editor/GNOME_GtkHTML_Editor.xml.in?r1=1.65&r2=1.66 http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gtkhtml/components/html-editor/GNOME_GtkHTML_Editor-emacs.xml.in?r1=1.10&r2=1.11 http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gtkhtml/components/html-editor/ChangeLog?r1=1.527&r2=1.528
damn. obviously i only changed the toooltip, but not the menu item name itself.
i asked for approval on gnome-i18n mailing list to fix this by patching all the po files, so no action would be required from the translators. however, there hasn't been a decision yet, danilo wanted to wait for a few additional opinions. i'll be off for the next two weeks, therefore reassigning this bug.
Not a showstopper for us, but will accept this change in one of the point releases. It's a bit more professional in appearance.
now really fixed in 2.7's head. sorry dave, my fault that this has not been fixed already for 2.6.
Can it go into the 2.6.1 branch as well? We won't be on 2.7/2.8 for a long time to come. Our Novell support contract is to run 2.6.x
it cannot go into 2.6.1 as it would break the gnome string freeze, but perhaps novell could patch it before providing rpm's for you.
