Description Sebastien Bacher 2006-01-21 16:30:08 UTC
This bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gcalctool/+bug/28865

"Select arithmetic precedence and try to substract: you will see that X-Y=X for any numbers.
This can be observed in gcalctool-5.7.23 and 5.7.26. 5.5.41 works fine with Dapper."

Hi Sebastien. What locale are you running in? I suspect this is a
duplicate of bug #323150
Comment 2 Sebastien Bacher 2006-01-21 18:10:42 UTC
I'm using an fr_FR.UTF-8 locale. Note that the fix of #323150 for the sqrt works but display and "Sqrt" instead of using the symbol which looks nicer
Comment 3 Rich Burridge 2006-01-21 22:50:59 UTC
Okay, then you are seeing bug #323150. I'll dup. this one out
against it.

I believe you are seeing "Sqrt" because the translators haven't
updated the fr_FR .po translation to use the new UTF encoding for
the square root symbol that's now the default (and should be
perfectly fine for most locales).

Thanks.
