The "New"-Button in the upperleft corner should change in a "New Post to
Group"-Button, when writing to a newsgroup.

how should the new button know what the user wants to do before the user does post to a group? which string exactly should be changed into "New Post to Group"?

Normally a newsgroup is selected. The problem is that evolution makes no difference between a Folder and a Newsgroup. Maybe it can be read from the settings of the selected Account?

A quick-fix: Add an additional entry to the "New"-Button, which has the functionality of the menuentry "Message->New Message to Folder" (I hope the label is called something like that  in english. I use the german version.)

If evolution in future makes a difference between folders and newsgroups, it will be a good improvement to change the label "New Message to Folder" into "New Message to Newsgroup", because I didn't realize that the button has the function to post to a newsgroup. (Thanks for the support in the IRC-Channel.) :)
