Description Drew Ogle 2006-01-20 20:14:36 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I have an mp3 ( encoded with sound-juiser for gstreamer 0.8 ) with lame (
settings preset=1002 ).

When I play this with gstreamer 0.8 it thinks the mp3 is ~20 minutes long.
When I play this with gstreamer 0.10 it thinks it is too long at the beginning,
and then changes the length as it progresses

Steps to reproduce:
1. Encode mp3 in sound-juicer with preset=1002
2. Play mp3 in totem using gst-0.8 or gst-0.10
3. look at time at the bottom.

Actual results:
The length of the song is incorrect.

Expected results:
The length of the song is correct.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

This is because when ripping VBR files, the lame plugin doesn't write the proper xing header.
