Interesting. I'm not seeing this. See my attached
screenshot. I wonder whether it's a side-effect of
the theme that's being used.

Adding Calum to the cc: for his comments/evaulation.
Comment 4 Rich Burridge 2006-01-20 17:35:17 UTC
Oh, I forgot to ask. Which version of gcalctool is this?
If the memory registers have a Close button, it's fairly
recent.

Odd indeed... hard to say without knowing how you've laid out the widgets whether it's something you've done wrong or not. (You don't use a glade file for this dialog, do you...?)
Comment 6 Baptiste Mille-Mathias 2006-01-20 18:19:06 UTC
Hello Rich
The version is 5.7.26, the lastest at this time.

Calum, I didn't see any glade file, the gtk code seems to live in http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gcalctool/gcalctool/gtk.c?rev=1.194&view=markup
Comment 7 Rich Burridge 2006-03-28 18:06:43 UTC
Okay, I've managed to recreate this when I use the
High Contrast theme. Investigating now...
