What is the version of evolution your using ? The latest stable release is evolution-2.4.x, please upgrade to the same and check if this happens. Thanks for reporting. Reopen the bug after providing information.

I am using Evolution 2.2.3 provided by Fedora Core 4.

Since Fedora does not provide newer Evolution packages I would prefer not to upgrade.

I have trimmed down my calendar.ics file to the two entries which make it crash and attached it. Notice the two entries share the same UID. I'm not sure if that is a bad thing, but both entries were created by the same Lotus Notes generated iCal invite.
