Description Andreas Maechler 2006-01-14 10:18:08 UTC
The user interface could be skinnable, so a user could choose from different
skins for the player / miniplayer...

I personally would NOT like to see this. Skinnable apps tend to have a larger memory footprint for one. Also they look out of place on the desktop ani I'm just not a fan. Just my opinion though
Comment 2 Aaron Bockover 2006-02-13 18:46:55 UTC
The primary user interface in banshee will never be skinnable, for reasons of usability, desktop consistence, and performance.

At some time in the future however, the main interface will be pluggable, which means the user would potentially be able to choose the interface. Someone could then implement a skinned interface plugin, however, it would never be the default.

Fair enough. The idea isn't totally far off though. I was thinking about things like this: [http://www.deviantart.com/view/29789699/]

Moving to the User Interface component.
