GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 326616
Auto-Reload for individual tabs
Last modified: 2006-01-12 16:16:26 UTC
There are web pages, like e.g. the webmail frontend to Lotus Notes, that expire after some time without user interaction. In the particular case of Lotus Notes, the user is required to log on again after some time. This is quite cumbersome and certainly a misfeature of Lotus Notes, not Epiphany. A workaround for such pages could be an auto-reload feature; if toggled on, this might tell the browser to just reload the current web site after some (user-specifiable) interval. The suggestion is to have an autoreload toggle button in each tab (perhaps next to the 'close'-button. If pressed, it automatically reloads the respective page after some minutes. For people who have to read mail using web frontends with the described misbehaviour this would save dozens of manual log-ons a day.
Thanks for your bug report! This case is too uncommon to warrant an extra button for on tabs. However it could be implemented as an extension. => moving to epiphany-extensions. cc'ing kikidonk, you implemented auto-reload for local pages didn't you?
Turns out there is already a patch available for this feature in bug 305604. Marking duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 305604 ***
