GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 321265
click on the Window button that has focus, but not in the foreground
Last modified: 2005-12-15 07:06:01 UTC
Setup: * sloppy focus, not raised. * focused window A is in foreground * unfocused window B is visible below the focused window. Action: User moves the mouse from the focused window down to the window list and clicks on button B. Expected Result: Window B gets focus and move to foreground. Actual Result: Window B is minimized. What happens: As user moves from window A to window B the mouse passes over window B, giving it focus. Because window B is focused when clicked it is minimized. Solution: Rather than minimizing when window has focus, minimize only when window has focus and is in foreground. Other information:
Moving to libwnck. I'm not sure I agree with you, but I'll let other people comment :-)
I totally agree with the reporter. I'm just lame and haven't ever gotten around to it, at least partially because "in foreground" doesn't work with the existence of on top windows and the best modification ("stacked as high as it can be") is somewhat hard to detect (since they layering algorithm is something the WM can muck with without exposing and libwnck is supposed to be WM independent...) However, it's a duplicate... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 90134 ***
