GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 320818
crashes when copying text from OpenOffice
Last modified: 2005-11-25 17:17:56 UTC
Distribution: Debian testing/unstable Package: Gnumeric Severity: normal Version: GNOME2.10.2 unspecified Gnome-Distributor: Debian Synopsis: crashes when copying text from OpenOffice Bugzilla-Product: Gnumeric Bugzilla-Component: import/export OOo / OASIS Bugzilla-Version: unspecified BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.10.1) Description: Description of the crash: Trying to copy a piece of text from an OpenOffice2 document (use Ctrl-C) into gnumeric (Ctrl-V), but gnumeric crashes. Steps to reproduce the crash: 1. Open an OpenOffice (2) document, open gnumeric. 2. Highlight a word in OOo and copy it using Ctrl-C 3. Click on a cell in gnumeric and try to paste using Ctrl-V Expected Results: The highlighted text from OOo should appear in the gnumeric cell. How often does this happen? Every time, regardless of whether the OOo document is a new one or an imported MS-Word document. Additional Information: If I highlight the word in OOo and paste it into gnumeric using the X copy buffer (click the middle mouse button into the data entry bar *above* the spreadsheel cells), then the text is copied correctly without crashing. That is, the crash does NOT occur with the X copy buffer. It only occurs when I try to use Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V. Using Debian unstable, Linux kernel 2.6.14 gnumeric 1.6.0-2 OpenOffice.org2 2.0.0-1 Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/gnumeric' (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".
