Description Nicholas Allen 2005-11-02 09:23:47 UTC
Please describe the problem:
If I try to play a radio stream while not connected to the internet then
rhythmbox blocks the user interface and the window is no longer repainted. The
only solution is to connect to the internet or to force kill the application.

It seems that the radio stream is buffered on the GUI event thread rather than a
background thread which would allow the GUI thread to continue processing events
while the connection to the radio stream is made.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Try to play a radio stream without an intervet connection
2.
3.

Actual results:
Rhythmbox freezes and the window is no longer repainted

Expected results:
The radio stream would load in the background and Rhythmbox would continue to
function as normal

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

We really need to take a look at fixing this.
