Version details: problem existed for years
Distribution/Version: debian

get more than one tag up.  switch focus to a different application.  click on
the tab. start typing.  notice that the focus is not on the terminal associated
with the tab, and that you're typing into outer space.

Just to be clear: what I think should happen is that clicking the mouse on the
tab causes the associated terminal to get the focus.
