Description dinoop.thomas 2005-10-27 10:28:33 UTC
If you select more than one plain text file (created by gEdit) in Nautilus, then
use Ctrl-O to Open them, several instances of gEdit are launched (one for each
file) if
(a) gEdit isn't already running or
(b) if it is already running and more than 5 files are being opened.
If less than 6 files are being opened, and gEdit is running, each file is opened
in a different tab of the same instance).

But if we try to open them from commandline, gedit always opens in multiple tabs.
