Description Stefan Nagy 2005-10-23 02:05:44 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I use two sound cards, one Intel 82801DB-ICH4 (onboard) and an external Creative
SoundBlaster Extigy. At home I want to use the external one and when I go out I
want to use the onboad-soundcard. Always when I change the soundcard I have to
switch the default sound card in the sound capplet manually.

I think it would be better if this would work automatically. I think that's just
relevant if one uses an external soundcard... If I choose a default sound card
then I want to use it if it's connected - if not, I want to use the other one.
And when I connect the external one again, I do that because I want to use it again.

"Default sound card" shouldn't mean that it's the only sound card I can/want to
use but that it's my preferred one.

Thanks for your bug. The soundcar selector is an Ubuntu feature. Marking as duplicate of #305907 which has the patch about that, it should be discussed with the patch before getting it used upstream
