GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 318800
very slow 1st query ...
Last modified: 2006-06-14 12:18:17 UTC
Start evolution 2.4.0 - wait till everything is quiet (mail-wise) - switch to the addressbook [ *local* ] enter 'Martin' - 5 second wait to get any results. Why is it -so- slow ? - it took 8 seconds previously [ hence the re-start to repeat it ]. Subsequent queries are much faster; this data is AFAICS stored in a single database to make querying fast ...
How many contacts your address book is having?
140 - ie. a trivial number; I can calculate PI to hundreds of thousands of digits in this time. The size of the .db is 560k or so.
adding perf keyword. perhaps related to bug 271113. i guess this one here also depends on bug 312690.
Michael can you test with this current version of evolution and also make sure that nothing is going on in the background. May be eds is busy doing something,
So - this seems to work fine with my recent builds, and it's months since I reported it so no-doubt someone fixed it somehow ;-) [ the optimist speaks ]
