Description Evandro Giovanini 2005-10-03 22:50:41 UTC
Currently the "From" field displays "John Doe <jdoe@server.com>". The interface
could be greatly simplified by displaying only "John Doe".

In case no name is available then display the e-mail address, for example as
"mailman@gnome.org", not "<mailman@gnome.org>". The brackets are not necessary
in my opinion.

Other information:
The main reason for this is that the From column is not big enough to display
both the name and the e-mail address for most cases, so the current behaviour
results in displaying the name and an incomplete and useless e-mail address,
that only adds clutter to the interface.

An example of this problem:

And in screenshots of basically anyone who uses evolution. :)

Am sure this is a duplicate. Could not find the other bug though.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2005-10-06 11:43:19 UTC
so i assume this is about the message list pane.
