enhancment of nautilus/file browser while quick serching for files/folders/etc

When you are going to find a specific file or folder it is good and common that you press its first letter of its name and then the browser will highlight your file or folder. Currently nautilus does this but it stops at the first try and if you want to continue your searching, it would not advance. It had better nautilus continue its searching when you press the specific letter subsequently and not stop it at the first file/folder which its first letter matchs your specific letter. Currently if you do this in nautilus, and for example you want to find some files/folders which their first names start with "M", by pressing m subsequently it will stop at its first try or if you insist on it, finally it would search for somthing that start with "mm", "mmm", ...which seems alittle out of date feature. It would be so good if someone include this feature too. An implementation can be in such a manner in which if you hold "shift" and press your specific letter , it would search those files/folder which start with "mm" or "mmm" ... I don't know this feature seems good or not...but it is so useful.
I'm not sure about this. If I want to do this then I'll sort by filename first and then scroll down from the first result.
You have two options to get what you want (advance to next result in typeahead search), press Arrow Up or Arrow Down key to go to next or previous match result, or you can use the mouse, pressing scrollwheel Up or scrollwheel Down will also get you to next or previous match result. Nevertheless, those shortcuts are not easy discoverable, so a better request would be to have a "next match" and "previous match" buttons next to the search entry, as firefox has.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use. By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME. Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
