GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 317062
Fails to decompress files from "Download link" context menu
Last modified: 2012-10-07 03:40:22 UTC
Compressed pages aren't decompressed when using the "Download link" context menu item, e.g. go to: http://patches.theflowerdays.com/d/pterm_colours_bold.diff If you right click the link at the top, and select "Download link", the file is not decompressed (It uses Content-Encoding: gzip). Galeon uses nsIExternalHelperAppService::ApplyDecodingForExtension to determine whether to use the NO_CONVERSION flag for the nsIWebPersist object.
I tried to download the file and ended up with a .diff file, wich seems normal to me. Perhaps I'm not understanding this bug but it seems to work for me on Ep 1.8.2 under Breezy
Ahh, but what are the contents of the .diff file, for me they are binary junk (i.e a gzipped file)
For me it looks like a normal ascii diff.
I can repro this here, ephy 1.8.2 with ff 1.0.x backend.
-> 1.10
Confirming. Ephy CVS HEAD on gnome 2.13
Someone needs to port the galeon bits to ephy here.
Confirming with epiphany 2.20.2 with libxul 1.8.1.11, see http://bugs.debian.org/459365 which is perfectly reproducible. Firefox isn’t affected.
The file mentioned in debian 459365 does not trigger the problem for me on Epiphany 3.4.
