Gnome Keyboard Indicator does not change layouts
Last modified: 2005-09-14 09:08:36 UTC
This bug has been opened here: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14656 "Gnome Keyboard Indicator 2.11.93 does not change layouts when clicking on the panel applet. It worked before upgrading Hoary to Breezy. ... I have the same issue, changing keyboard layout is not possible with the panel applet and also not possible with the keyboard preferences. The only way to change keyboard preferences is setxkbmap. Ubuntu Breezy 5.10 with Gnome 2.12 (updated today). This bug describes the same issue: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15127"
seems to happen on all the GNOME 2.12/Ubuntu installs
OK, if you run gnome-keyboard-applet from console with XKL_DEBUG=500 - what do you see when you click the mouse?
Sergey, I don't have a executeable called gnome-keyboard-applet on my system ...
/usr/lib/gnome-applets/gnome-keyboard-applet on a Debian/Ubuntu installation
Sebastien, thanks for that hint didn't know that :) Here's the debug output: fbn@paul:~$ XKL_DEBUG=500; /usr/lib/gnome-applets/gnome-keyboard-applet [1126639599,000,/build/buildd/gnome-applets-2.12.0/./libgswitchit/gswitchit_config.c:GSwitchItConfigLoadGroupDescriptionsUtf8/] The mismatch between the number of groups: 1 and number of layouts: 2 If I check the groups (context menue - groups) I see 2 groups/layouts (DE and US)
Yess. Exactly the situation we encountered yesterday with Sebastien. Looks like broken xorg or libxklavier. We need to investigate it more...
Just tell if there's something to test or help ...
