GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 315901
Flagging email as spam cumbersome.
Last modified: 2006-01-13 07:53:38 UTC
In older versions of evolution there was a 3-keystroke setup to flag messages as Junk, a fairly common operation. In the new version menu layout has been given priority over functionality and flagging a message as Junk takes 4 keystrokes Alt, m, k, j. Please add a shortcut for this, or move this useful operation to a toplevel. Operations like "Move to Folder" and "Copy to Folder" I have never used in my life, I typically just drag and drop it.
a patch for setting shortcuts for junk/not junk is available at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=50482&action=view and could not yet get in because of the UI freeze. so either this is a duplicate of bug 260734 or (if you insist on moving it to a higher level in the menu structure) this is a dependency to bug 310550 (adding the latter one). it's up to you, miguel... (good luck with the mono meeting at the pdc, make it a big success!)
Looks fine. We need to commit it to HEAD as well as 2.4 branch.
committed to head. Not sure if it should go into 2.4
The added accelerator is already in use and assigned to cmd 'MessageForwardAttached'. Reverting the patch. I suggest the list of accelerators be consolidated, rationalized and committed in a single shot *after* review.
harish: very fair point. going to review the shortcut because i already have to do that partially to fix the quick reference card once again... hmm. we also have to update the "what's new in 2.6"-welcoming mail. :-/
time to review the work the sun hackers did at http://go-evolution.org/Evolution_Keyboard_Navigation_Specification , will take a look at it
Now Control +J will mark as Junk and C+S+Junk will mark as not junk. Closing the bug as fixed.
