Description tmp 2005-09-06 21:20:55 UTC
Please describe the problem:
The dialog for adding a path has the same problem like the dialogs did have in
Gnome 2.10:

It selects the first entry of the files and folder list in the right column of
the open dialog. If you klick Open it won't paste the path in Evolution but
opens the selected directory in the dialog

Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to:
> Edit > Preferences > Email > Add new email
2. Then choose Maildir box type in the configuration assistant.
3. Add a path to your mailbox directory.

Actual results:
You get an open dialog with the same error as the dialogs in Gnome 2.10. If you
want your Home directory as mailbox you click on Your home directory in the left
column. Now if Desktop is the most upper entry in the right column and you click
open it won't paste your home directory as a path to your maildir directory but
opens the Desktop directory in the dialog and it doesn't paste your home
directory to the path in Evolution.

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Maybe you should use the newest Gtk 2.8 open dialog there this bug seems to have
gone.

Comment 3 Shreyas Srinivasan 2005-12-22 06:05:48 UTC
This is not a evo bug. This is a gtk file picker issue. Re-assigning.

Any update on this?

This is quite blocking because I can't create a new account :(
Comment 5 Matthias Clasen 2006-07-21 15:55:59 UTC
Evo bug. If you want users to pick a directory, use SELECT_FOLDER mode.
Comment 6 Priit Laes (IRC: plaes) 2006-07-22 08:18:54 UTC
It would be nice if the new account code would be migrated from GnomeDruid to GtkAssistant ;)

Could someone update the Gnome version to 2.16
