GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 315185
Panel does not hide when leaving grouped windows list
Last modified: 2007-06-29 13:45:59 UTC
Please describe the problem: The bug appears when you have two things: 1. an auto-hiding panel 2. grouped windows in the window list therein When you click on a grouped window list entry in the panel, it intuitively opens a menu to choose the individual window. Do this. Now, the panel will not disappear. Steps to reproduce: There are two related situations where the problem also occurs: 1. when you do not actually choose a window but make the menu hide by clicking somewhere on the desktop 2. when you use the right mouse button Actual results: The same as for the initial situation. I guess you can find more ways to reproduce this faulty behavior. Expected results: I consider it really intuitive that the panel should disappear when the grouped windows menu is left. Does this happen every time? Yes, it is 100% reproducible. Other information: Myself, I am using GNOME 2.8, but someone on FreeNode managed to reproduce this problem for 2.10. (Thank you!) It is also documented on https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=159073
Still present in 2.14. Still annoying, every day.
This also happens for me when I use NetworkManager. If I open the network list, move off the panel, then close the network list, the panel still shows until I mouse over it again. Gnome 2.16 in Ubuntu Edgy.
