GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 313780
File Saving Dialog window too big
Last modified: 2005-11-11 20:14:04 UTC
Please describe the problem: I got a laptop with 1024x768 screen, and whenever I try to save something with the file saving dialog, sometimes I would inevitably have to "unfold" the dialog window by clicking the "browse for other folders" text. The problem is that the file dialog would "unfold" itself right across the screen and over the edge, making the "cancel" and "save" button inaccessible because they are beneath the edge of the visible area, I have to manually drag the save dialog window up, and then unfold it to be able to use the two buttons. For a clearer picture please go to http://yuanhenglizhen.blogspot.com/ there's two screen shots describing the problem. Steps to reproduce: From what I found, other laptop users with 1024x768 resolution, don't have the same problem as I do. 1. maximaze application windows 2. select "save as" from the file menu 3. click on the "browse for other folders" text Actual results: the file dialog window would "unfold" itself right across the screen and over the edge, making the "cancel" and "save" button inaccessible Expected results: If the file dialog window is too big to be "unfold" from it's default position, which is in the center of the application window, I suppose it should automatically position itself abit higher up the screen so that the whole window would still be visible when when it's unfolded Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: I'm using a Toshiba Satellite 2450.
