There should be real-time previews inside the actual image window for Script-
Fu's, Filters and even the Selection Stroke.

It's nice to have a selected-layer-only small-window preview inside the Filters 
dialog, but this is not helpful because it doesn't show you the effect on top 
of all other layers and doesn't give you a large view of the image to see how 
the results look like.
