Description Khasim Shaheed 2005-08-01 07:56:32 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
1.Assign a label to a mail (Right click->Label)
2.Move that mail from Inbox to a user created folder under your exchange account

Now switch to that folder and observe that, the moved mail has lost the label
assigned in step 1.

We need to be storing these labels to the server if this has to be working fine.
Will need more investigation to see for the following two things.

1. Understand the behaviour of these labels when the mails are moved across folders.
2. See, if the server supports such labels across clients. [ The labels should
be visible on multiple clients. ]
Comment 2 Sankar P 2006-04-17 13:39:30 UTC
It is not possible to sync-up labels with Server. Because, the labels are not standardized and an user can choose to have his own labels. So labels are indubitably client-specific.

Already, when you copy a message from Exchange folder to local folder, "On this computer" the labels are retained.

When you copy a message from local/any-exchange-folder to an exchange folder, the destination folder receives the message as a fresh copy and it wouldnt know if it was a new mail or copied from somewhere.

This should probably be a WONTFIX. Anyway, I will see the code once and confirm the behavior.
Comment 3 Sankar P 2006-04-21 06:16:01 UTC
According to the current way in which exchange folders are handled, this cannot be done. I have explained why in the comment #2. Closing as WONTFIX.
