Description Miroslav Rajcic 2005-07-27 09:01:40 UTC
Since any application can be closed in GNOME using Alt+F4,
why not support the same shortcut combination to shut down computer itself?

Pressing Alt+F4, with no application having focus, should start
standard shutdown window.

This would make GNOME more usable, especially to people who prefer using
keyboard than mouse.

Pretty sure there's an old bug with discussion of this.

We even have a tracker bug for requests of this form -- bug 155462. :-)

This specific request was first filed as bug 99335, so I'll mark as a duplicate
of that one.
