Distribution: Debian testing/unstable
Package: gnome-applets
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.11.4 2.11.6
Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu
Synopsis: gnome-keyboard-properties crash when adding new lay-out
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-applets
Bugzilla-Component: keyboard indicator
Bugzilla-Version: 2.11.6
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.11.1)
Description:
Description of the crash:
On my Ubuntu Breezy system, gnome-keyboard-properties crashes when
adding a keyboard lay-out.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. in Gnome panel, choose System - Preferences - Keyboard
2. Choose tab Layouts
3. If there is alreay a keyaboard lay-out, remove it by selecting it and
clicking on the Remove button
4. Click on the Add... button

Expected Results:
Dialog window should appear, which choices of keyboard lay-out, but
instead it crashes.

How often does this happen?
Always

Additional Information:
I've been bitten by the dreaded xkb error dialog at each login in Gnome,
Alt-Gr keys are not working (I can make them work in a terminal by
running xmodmap - < xmodmap - < /usr/share/xmodmap/xmodmap.be, but then
this works only in that terminal window)
Here is a part of xorg.conf:
Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Generic Keyboard"
        Driver "kbd"
        Option "CoreKeyboard"
        Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
        Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
        Option "XkbLayout" "be"

I tried setting the keyboard layout to be via gconf-editor, but that did
not make disappear the xkb error dialog
