GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 309671
Erroneous Nautilus Behavior with Multiple Audio & Video file selection and opening
Last modified: 2005-07-10 08:05:58 UTC
Currently in Nautilus if multiple Music files or Video files are selected and the user "Opens" the file selection a warning pops up that "This action will open xx windows". This is unexpected behavior because playing multiple video files or listening to multiple music files simultaneously seems far from general user behavior. A more appropriate action would be for Natilus to "QUE" the files into the playlist of the default media player for that file type. Additionally a dynamic right-click option where the user could select "Add to playlist" might be useful too if it doesn't intefere with the Gnome HIG. Other information: At this moment, adding multiple music/video files to a playlist requires the user to launch the associated application separately and maneuver through the dialog boxes of the application to arrange a playlist. This is time consuming and not userfriendly.
